Franklin County Commissioners Announce New and Improved County Website

June 4, 2015 - CHAMBERSBURG, PA – The Franklin County Commissioners have released a new and improved website while consolidating five existing county websites into one. The main county website, Adult Probation, Department of Emergency Services, Drug Task Force, and the Franklin County Jail websites have been consolidated to the existing web address, www.franklincountypa.gov.

The new consolidated website has a more modern look and feel, better navigation, improved search features, and is designed to run on different devices such as regular computers, tablets, and mobile devices. A highlight of some of the new features include: the availability of searchable historic documents in the new Archives section and an Archives blog highlighting tidbits of historic information about the county, an interactive county historic timeline, interactive recycling locations map, a How Do I... section to help citizens find information quickly, expanded juror information, and an updated and expansive Frequently Asked Questions section.

The new site was designed to help citizens find information on the many services offered by the county quickly and efficiently. According to Commissioner Ziobrowski, "Folks should find the new format to be user-friendly. That will save people time and money." Commissioner Thomas agreed by saying, “The new site is truly a one-stop shop. From recycling and county history to human services and elections, it makes finding and accessing county information and services much easier than ever before.”

The commissioners invite feedback on the new site to ensure that it is meeting the needs of the citizens of the county. Comments can be provided to the following email address: webmaster@franklincountypa.gov. Chairman David Keller stated, "The new website is now more userfriendly than ever. But, if we can make it better, we hope folks will tell us how."

The old websites will continue to run at their current web addresses until they are fully migrated over to the new consolidated site in the next few weeks.
