Franklin County Announces Plans For Free Veterans Appreciation Event

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners, along with the Franklin County Office of Veterans Affairs, are pleased to announce plans for a drive-through Veteran Appreciation Expo this spring.

 

Set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 27, the Veteran Appreciation Expo will be held at the Marine Corps League, 450 Grant St., Chambersburg. Franklin County veterans attending this drive-through event will receive information on available resources and services along with one free barbecue chicken meal, including sides, with valid proof of military service. Meals will be available to the public for a $12 donation, payable by cash or check, while supplies last. Pre-registration is requested but not required.

 

“We can never say ‘thank you’ enough for the service our veterans have performed in protecting our country, but we hope that events like this can demonstrate our appreciation for what they have done for all Americans,” said Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dave Keller.

Donations to support veterans’ outreach programs, including Franklin County MilitaryShare, Operation Save-a-Vet Save-a-Pet, Operation Rucks to Reins and the annual We Salute You Scholarship, can be made by dropping off or mailing a check, made payable to Franklin County Veterans Affairs, Attn: Outreach Fund, to the Franklin County Veterans Affairs Office at 425 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
