Franklin County Sheriff Announces Weekend Hours To Issue Concealed Carry Permits

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - As part of Franklin County Sheriff Benjamin Sites’ overall plan to increase public engagement and access to critical services, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is happy to announce a trial initiative designed to offer citizens a greater opportunity to obtain their concealed carry permits.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will accept and issue previously approved concealed carry permits from 8 a.m. to noon on June 1. The event will be at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office,  located in the Franklin County Judicial Center at 14 N. Main St., Chambersburg.

“Something I have heard for years is that Franklin County citizens have a hard time finding time to get their concealed carry permit during our normal administrative office hours,” said Sites “My hope is to give citizens more opportunities to obtain their permits at a time that may be more convenient to life’s busy schedules. The plan is to gauge interest in this initial initiative and possibly offer another evening date in the coming months.”
