Area Agency on Aging

April 13, 2026

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Beginning June 1, the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging and Chambersburg Senior Activity Center will have a new home in the North Pointe Business Center, 2593 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg.

Just 2 miles from the current Norland Avenue site, North Pointe Business Center is conveniently located along U.S. 11 north of Chambersburg Borough. The facility allows the agency’s administrative offices and Chambersburg activity center to continue sharing space with the flexibility to be customized to the county’s needs. The site offers ample parking, and seniors who currently utilize public transportation to visit the agency and activity center can continue using rabbittransit to get to and from the new location. The move also provides a fiscal win, as it will translate into significant cost savings for the county.

“We’re grateful for the 15 years spent at our Norland Avenue location, and now we’re looking forward to a new chapter in a new home that we can call our own,” said Franklin County Area Agency on Aging Director Tawnya Hurley. “The new space will provide our agency with the accessibility and visibility that’s important to ensuring our older adults can easily find us and the services they need in the community.”

Operations at the Norland Avenue location will continue as normal during the transition to the new facility. The Chambersburg Senior Activity Center will remain open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the administrative offices will continue serving the public Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Information regarding any temporary service disruptions will be shared as it becomes available.

The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging provides a planned program of supported services to those 60 years of age and older, intended to optimize independence, promote consumer choice and enhance quality of life. Preference is given to those with the greatest social and economic need. The agency oversees the county’s eight senior activity centers, which offer a variety of social and educational activities, crafts, clubs and health programs. Daily lunchtime meals are also available by reservation for a small donation.
