Recovery

Recovery Month
Since 1989, Recovery Month has been observed every September to support and promote new recovery and treatment practices, celebrate the nation’s recovery community, and honor the service providers and communities that make recovery possible. It’s a time to recognize and celebrate those who have achieved recovery as well as the families and loved ones who support them.

Certified Recovery Specialist
Certified Recovery Specialists (CRS) are individuals with personal, lived experience in their own substance use disorder recovery. By offering insight into the recovery process based on their own experience, recovery specialists are able to provide a unique perspective while providing recovery support services. The CRS is not a sponsor, case manager or a therapist but rather a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator.

DDAP Licensed Recovery Housing
A recovery home is a group living environment developed for the treatment and education of persons with alcohol or drug-related issues and/or dependencies.
Recovery Liaison
The Recovery Liaison assists individuals in connecting to services such as treatment, peer support, housing, transportation, vocational training, employment services, telephone support, support groups, system navigation, recovery resource dissemination, life skills training, and prosocial activities. A key aspect of the Recovery Liaison’s role is meeting individuals where they are in the community, providing support in their own environments.
