October’s Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received 16 nominations for the October award, three of which were for Dunkle.

“Haleigh consistently goes above and beyond in every aspect of her role,” said one nomination. “She is always willing to lend a hand to her fellow coworkers and never hesitates to make herself available to anyone in need. Whether it’s stepping in to assist when caseworkers are out, offering support during particularly busy periods, or simply being a reliable and steady presence on the team, Haleigh is someone we can all count on. She rises to every occasion with professionalism and grace.”

The nomination continued, “What truly sets Haleigh apart is not just her incredible work ethic, but her unwaveringly positive attitude. She brings a warm, uplifting energy into the office each day. Her friendly demeanor and kindness create a work environment that makes others feel both welcomed and valued. She embodies what it means to be a team player, approachable, dependable and supportive.”

“Recently, Haleigh welcomed a new office mate and went out of her way to make sure she felt included and informed,” wrote another coworker. “She took the time to show her around, explain office processes and provide the kind of one-on-one support that makes a lasting impact on a new hire. That same spirit extends to everyone she works with, whether they’re a seasoned caseworker or just starting their career here at the county.

“As a new employee myself, I can personally speak to how much of a difference Haleigh has made in my own journey,” the coworker continued. “From my very first day, she took me under her wing with patience, encouragement and genuine kindness. She has helped me navigate the learning curve with confidence, always making time to answer questions, share insights and check in to see how I’m doing. That kind of mentorship is invaluable, and it speaks volumes about who she is as a person.”

Another nomination read, “Despite the significant demands of her role and the size of her caseload, Haleigh never complains – not once! She approaches her work with quiet determination, strong communication and a solutions-oriented mindset. She keeps everything running smoothly while making it look effortless. In every way, Haleigh exemplifies the qualities we value most: hard work, compassion, collaboration and resilience. She is someone we admire, someone we appreciate and someone we are incredibly lucky to have in our family at children and youth.”

Dunkle’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by her peers. Those who work alongside her remarked on her strong work ethic, her character and her smile. They also described Dunkle as someone who is helpful, exceeds expectations and someone with wit, punctuality and self-motivation.

The Franklin County Commissioners congratulated Dunkle on her recognition and thanked her for her excellent work and for exuding such a high standard of knowledge, leadership and excellence to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
