CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the February Employee of the Month award to Kyle Fleming during the board’s Feb. 25 public meeting. Fleming has been employed by Franklin County since July 2008 and serves as a correctional officer at the Franklin County Jail.

February’s employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received four nominations for the February award, one of which was for Fleming.

“After another officer identified an abnormality during the initial body scan of an incoming commitment, Officer Fleming demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and professionalism by conducting a thorough follow-up search,” said the nomination. “As a result of his diligence, Officer Fleming successfully located contraband and prevented it from being introduced into the facility. His actions reflect a strong commitment to safety, policy and proactive security measures.”

The nomination continued, “By taking the extra time to ensure the situation was handled properly, Officer Fleming not only helped keep himself safe, but also helped protect fellow staff, inmates and the overall security of the jail. His efforts showed the high standards and dedication expected of our officers and make him highly deserving of Employee of the Month recognition.”

Fleming’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by his peers. Those who work alongside him describe him as someone who is reliable, dedicated, a team player and one who possesses a strong work ethic.

The Franklin County Commissioners congratulated Fleming on his recognition and thanked him for his excellent work and for exuding such a high standard of knowledge, leadership and excellence to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
