Salzetti Named Franklin County’s August Employee Of The Month

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the August Employee of the Month award to Brannon Salzetti during the board’s Sept. 2 public meeting. Salzetti has been employed by Franklin County since July 2025 and serves as a probation officer in the county’s adult probation department.

August’s Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received 19 nominations for the July award, three of which were for Salzetti.

“‘Dedication’ is the first word that comes to mind when thinking of Brannon Salzetti,” said one nomination. “For most of the time he has worked in probation he has covered two caseloads, with little recognition for the additional work and stress he has taken on. For the foreseeable future, Brannon will continue covering those two caseloads, as he assists a newer officer who is transitioning into his old role.”

“One incident demonstrates Brannon’s dedication to doing his job well,” the nomination continued. “Late in the day on a Friday, Brannon began receiving concerning reports that one of the individuals on his caseload had been potentially in violations of the terms of his probation, had been getting into altercations, and had been making threats.

“Rather than let it be ‘a Monday issue’ and go home for the weekend, Brannon coordinated with two troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police and headed to the defendant’s residence in a remote location in northern Franklin County without radio coverage. The defendant was located and troopers held the defendant until Brannon was able to take control of the situation. Ultimately, Brannon arrested the defendant, and state police confiscated a large marijuana plant. Due to the defendant’s extremely inebriated state, Brannon transported this individual to the nearest hospital and got him medically cleared before finally booking him into jail, hours after our typical ‘quitting time.’ Brannon’s dedication may have prevented serious harm to the defendant or his family.”

“Brannon volunteered to help with National Night Out in Washington Township,” wrote another colleague. “He was willing to give his time to represent the department and interact with members of the community. I think that shows the type of person and officer he is and his willingness to be involved outside of his normal day-to-day duties.”

One nomination said, “While in the field, Brannon has encountered many difficult situations and handled them appropriately, whether that be by asking for assistance from the police or having more [parole officers] available. He is always prepared for whatever may happen. Brannon puts everything into his work and does it for the right reasons.”

The Franklin County Commissioners congratulated Salzetti on his recognition and thanked him for his excellent work and for exuding such a high standard of knowledge, leadership and excellence to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
