Seniors Can Learn To Spot, Avoid Scams At Free Franklin County Area Agency On Aging Event

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging invites local seniors and retirees to a fast-paced financial fraud prevention program, $cam Jam, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 25 at the Kauffman Ruritan Community Center, Chambersburg. 

$cam Jam is a free, non-commercial event designed to educate seniors and retirees about common scams and fraud prevention The program is organized through the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities’ Investor Education and Consumer Outreach Office and includes presentations from a variety of organizations, including: 

  • Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities 
  • Franklin County District Attorney’s Office 
  • Pennsylvania State Police 
  • Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General 
  • AARP Pennsylvania 

In addition to the presentations, attendees can play Fraud Bingo for prizes, and lunch is included.
